BAD MOM!

Yes, I admit it, I am a bad mom!! I have had pictures for 3 days now to put up and I have left them where I don't have access, each time I have thought of updating the blog. I assume that readers are checking in for "fresh puppy breath" and they are going to be treated to this rambling monologue! I will tell you that the puppies are doing awesome and have all begun little training regimes that include walking on a leash, coming when called, sitting, downing and standing! They are all little stars and seem very eager to learn. They have received their second puppy vaccines. Ears are being a little more cooperative with teething, although I saw Miss Flip's last week and we had to do an "ear emergency" on her. I showed her mom how to massage the ears along the natural fold to encourage them to stay folded.
Those on Facebook have been able to see a preview of the new puppy photos and also follow some of the other pups in their new homes. If you are not on a friend on facebook and would like to be, just email me.
This week we are looking forward to a new arrival! "Primo", "Alphaville's No Doubt" will be joining the family. Primo is a 10 week old black and tan Afghan Hound puppy who will come to us from Yvonne Ljungkvist and Alphaville Kennels in Sweden. Now Brownie, the rescue Border Collie will not be the only dog with a tail in the house! We think that the pups will enjoy playing with their new brother. There aren't many dogs as agile as an Aussie, but being a previous Afghan mom I can tell you the afghan is probably it's match! Now some people have the incorrect assumption that Afghans are not very smart. This is totally wrong as Afghans are extremely smart..as in learn it one time and I will do it again smart. You have to be on your toes as they are growing up so they learn the right way! I will post some pictures of Primo later this week so you can all admire him :-)!
We still have the 2 boys available. Please email us if you are interested. Liz has always been torn about Dash, really wanting to keep him, but knowing he should probably go to a new home. But just in case he stays...we have been searching for a name for him. I would invite you to please send us any suggestions for call names or registered names for him. Since he looks so much like his grandfather, Khaos, we have been trying to come up with name similar in line with Khaos and Eclectic Alchemy.
I hear by do promise those new puppy pictures as soon as possible!!

Remy and Kwill Puppies are 10 weeks old today!!!

A lot has happened in the last couple weeks. It kind of feels like we have been through a whirlwind. The puppies have had lots of socialization and interaction with new people. They have all demonstrated the ability to take things in stride and adapt to their new surroundings. The reports from those in their new homes also reflect this to be true.
New play time will also consist of challenges that allow puppies to make choices and develop good learning behaviors. We want to nurture natural drives and encourage curiosity. We will try to build confidence by creating successful situations for them to engage with us individually.
Now that they are leaving the cute fuzzy puppy stage behind and beginning to enter the long legged stage toward the 12 week period, we offer some stacked shots below!!

This is Zoom, one of the natural "Stacking Stars" on the table. By the time you read this he will in his new home with Lacey!

Mr Tip, another Stacking Star! But I believe he will do well in everything he attempts. Very Personable, biddable and drivey. Tip is looking for the right home!

This is "Twist" and I can tell you she was no Angel to stack! Do I see little horns??? Twist is staying at Arcoiris and I can tell you Liz has her work cut out for her!!!

Miss Dip is a delight to photograph in case you were wondering :-)! She is a busy girl, but is very biddable. (She will work for Cheese!) Unless of course something very fast happens by, say a car driving by...she turned her head to watch every car that came down the road and watched them until they were gone.

In this picture she is actually leaning back on her hocks as she follows the "cheese"! She reminds me of a little dancing bear!

Dip is staying with us for a couple extra weeks and then will be leaving for Florida!

Dash is very sweet and available! Please contact us to discuss him or Tip!

The week ahead for the puppies will consist of play, play and more play!!! More leash training, crate training 201 and the second set of puppy vaccines!!

Until next week,
janine
